Instruction includes both dryland and shoreline training, and is designed to help a dog’s confidence and manners around the equipment and out on the water. It includes some SUP instruction and important Pet First Aid information related to risks associated with paddling activities (e.g. drowning, water intoxication, heat stroke, hypothermia, paw injuries, etc.).

Dog owners are welcome to use their own equipment. For dog owners without equipment, the following can be provided:

  • Stand Up Paddle board (kayak seat option)
  • life vest for human (required) Participants are asked to bring own life vest if they do not fit the standard sizes provided (adult S/M, L/XL)
  • life vest for dog (required) Dog life vests of varying sizes are available.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older and are required to sign a liability waiver. Dogs must not be aggressive towards people and must be in satisfactory health for the activity and environment. Trainer/instructor reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.

Taught by CPDT-KA Certified dog trainer with over 14 years experience with force-free dog training and behaviour modification. Certification in Pet First Aid and Red Cross Standard First Aid/CPR; Paddle Canada Basic SUP Course.
